Na wschód! // Heading east!

May turned up with a journey I had been planning for quite some time but didn't think it would happen so quickly. Russia is a very attractive spotter destination due to the classic airliners still in service. We had a calm start to our trip with a quick spotting session at Shermietievo Airport. Although the traffic there is far from being Classic there were still a couple of things worh getting. Welcome to Russia!

Otwarte bramy / Open gates

Moim ostatnim zetknięciem z Paris Air Show 2015 został jeden z dni otwartych. To tam złapałem Dorniera Do-228NG.
My last visit to the Paris Air Show 2015 was one of the open days. Along with me came around 100 thousand people forming an enormous crowd. Thanks to the media pass though, I managed to avoid the most crowded places and got the possibility of doing a couple more interresting things on the last day. Konstanty joined me for the open days and so we started with the static display of smaller aircraft. It was here that I caught this Dornier Do-228NG.

The next attraction was to be a tour around F-GPXL- a research Fokker 100, which until that time I only could photograph from the outside. Unfortunatelly the tour guide could only speak French so I didn't understand much. I did manage to catch out the fun fact about the cockpit of the visited aircraft. There is a small differrence - a challenge for the observant ones!

Then one of the most fun parts of the day came. Airbus organized a tour around the A350XWB test bed, exactly the same one that would do all of the flying displays through the whole week. Astonishingly, the interior of the plane is no differrent to a normal passenger airliner. The only differrence is in about the middle of the fuselage where a special computer is mounted. The operator can simulate many emergency situations from here and observe the reactions of the aircraft as well as of the crew. So interresting to see. At the end I was given a very special gift - a Safety Card from this very aircraft - extremely rare for a collector. What a success!

Korzystając z okazji, przekonałem pracowników Airbusa, aby wpuścili mnie do Airbusa A400M. Takim sposobem w końcu zrobiłem zdjęcie kokpitu tej maszyny i muszę przyznać - wygląda imponująco!
While at the Airbus headquarters I managed to persuade the Airbus employees to let me into the A400M. This way I finally managed to get a cockpit shot of this beast and I've got to say : It's pretty impressive!

My visit at Airbus was the last one of this type. The dynamic display block was coming up. It had been modified in order to be more attractive for the wide audience. While looking for the optimal location, we managed to get a couple of shots of the bizjets parked around the place as also the Antonov An-178 - one of my biggest aims for the parisian air show.

The weather was improving with each minute which only made the apppetite grow for the aircraft to be presented during the dynamic display. Apart from the obvious Airbus A350 (the same one the tour took place on) and the Airbus A380, an Air France DC-3 was planned to fly as well as the fire-fighting CL-414. A JF17 display was also scheduled followed by an Airbus A400M. The whole block was pumped by a flying display perfromed by the Patrouille de France team. But the DC-3 was my priority. How wonderfull to be able to admire such a classic in such good shape. Fantastic!

And this really is the end of my fun at PAS15. Obviously a selfie had to be taken, this time for two reasons : first to show the numbers of visitors and second to just show what a privilige it is to have a media pass on such events and have access to photo platforms like these. Our adventures in Paris weren't even close to coming to an end. We were only getting ready for the real civilian airports and some proper spotting.

Podziwiając Alpy.../ Admiring the Alps

Boarding przebiega sprawnie. Po zamknięciu drzwi odpalamy silniki, kołujemy do pasa 29 i lecimy!

The 6th of September was the date of another one-day trip inside the Boeing 737-800 cockpit. No flying for a longer time started to take its toll so thanks to the crew of flight TVS7310 I had the occasion to fly to Fuerteventura. The adventure began just as all the previous ones-  with a briefing in the office. Then a short ride to the terminal, security checks and after a couple of minutes we were on board our aircraft. The crew performed all necessary preparations to be ready to welcome the passengers in just a couple of minutes. Boarding goes quickly. After closing our doors we turn our engines on, taxi to runway 29 and off we go!

Beautiful weather and experience from my previous flights to the Canary Islands gave me a feeling that the main attraction of this flight could be the Alps. And I was right. After about an hour into our flight, we see the beautiful mountains on our horizon. As fast as it is possible I start to document all of the beautiful views before us.

We spend the next hours on talking. I didn't even realize the 5 hour flight go so quickly. And so we descend to our destination. There are a lot of clouds above the Islands so once we manage to scrape through them we finally see... Mars. Or at least that's what I thought it was. Fuerteventura looked like some lonely planet with any civilization.

We then land on runway 01 with a very moved threshold. It's quite a cool situation, because this needs us to be slightly higher, giving us a nice view of the airport.
WAW-FUE-WAWWAW-FUE-WAW

Po miękkim lądowaniu kołujemy do naszego stanowiska. Podczas, gdy załoga wypuszcza pasażerów i przygotowywuje samolot do powrotnej drogi, ja wybieram się na płytę, licząc na jakiś krótki spotting. Guzik, nic z tego. Płyta absolutnie pusta.
After a delicate landing we taxi to our position. While the crew lets the passengers out and prepares the aircraft for the flight back, I go to visit the ramp hoping to do a short session of spotting. Oops, not going to happen, the ramp is absolutely empty.
WAW-FUE-WAW

I stand at the ramp for a moment enjoying the oceanic breeze. This doesn't last for long though, after I couple of minutes I get on board OK-TVM once again.
WAW-FUE-WAW

Pakujemy pasażerów, odpalamy silniki, push back a następnie kołowanie z powrotem do pasa 01.

Boarding finished. We start our engines, push-back and taxi back to runway 01. Our return flight looks pretty much the same. For most of the time we keep gabbling on. The views aren't as spectacular as a couple of hours ago. Air2Air traffic not that good either. After a couple of hours we finally reach Paris. I take a photo of the northern part of Paris with the Stade de France perfectly visible. I also see Le Bourget and Charles de Gaulle airports.
WAW-FUE-WAWWAW-FUE-WAW

Not long later we land on runway 33 in Warsaw.

Another wonderful adventure, tonnes of new experience. Our Fuerteventura rotation comes to an end. The passengers are de-boarded. The crew ends their work on the aircraft and after a couple of minutes we are back on the other side of the terminal.
An enormous "thank you" to the whole crew for the amazing company and care. As always it was simply amazing! Thanks a lot! Fuerteventura would then appear to be my second last trip on the jumpseat. And so look out for the Grand Finale- it's going to be worth it!
