My next day in Paris greeted me with clouds and short showers. The usual road to Le Bourget airport took less than normally, maybe because of the weather. It was quite obvious that taking photos of the dynamic display was not the best of ideas for today. On the other side what else to do, if getting on board the static display aircraft seemed quite difficult. Thinking hardly over these matters I crossed the opening gate for the third time. What to do... Maybe I should give the static tours another try or maybe I should just stay and watch the dynamic display without taking any photos? Help came to me together with Piotrek, my friend from Warsaw, who showed me how to properly use my press accreditation.
Zaczęliśmy więc od konferencji Airbus'a podsumowujacej sprzedaż samolotów podczas tegorocznych Salonów Le Bourget. Oczywiście nie obyło się bez propagandy głoszącej wspaniałość i dominację Airbusa na międzynarodowym niebie. Jak dla Boeing Boy'a ciężko było mi ukryć szyderczy uśmiech. Po bądź co bądź ciekawej konferencji postarałem się w jakikolwiek sposób sfotografować Airbusa A350XWB. Ogólnie fotografowanie czy to A350 czy A380 na wystawie statycznej Airbusa było trudne, samoloty mocno pozastawiane, w sumie klasycznie.
And so we started with a press conference held by Airbus summarizing the orders achieved by them during this year's Le Bourget Air Show. Of course there had to be a tonne of propaganda stating the wonderfulness and domination of the french company on the international skies. As for me, a typical Boeing Boy it was difficult to stop sniggering at what was being said. After a quite interesting press conference I tried to take a couple of shots of the Airbus A350XWB. Generally speaking taking any pictures of the A350 or the A380 at the Airbus static display was pretty tricky, loads of equipment around the aircraft made taking a clean shot quite impossible. Classical.

At the next parking position stood the Dreamliner with a nice possibility of taking a clean shot. Another lesson for Airbus!
Zaczęło się robić ciekawie. Będąc w centrum prasowym dowiedziałem się o Media Slotach organizowanych przez Boeinga, odbywających się na pokładzie B777-300, który juz wkrótce miał zostać oddany do China Airlines. Czym prędzej pobiegłem więc pod owy samolot. Czekając na wejście do środka zrobiłem bardzo ładnego biz-jeta produkcji Embraera.
Things were starting to get interesting. While in the Press Centre I found out about Media Slots organized by Boeing on board a B777-300, which was soon to be delivered to China Airlines. And so I got myself fast to the meeting point. As I waited to enter the static tour I took a shot of a wonderful Embraer biz-jet.
Gdy przyszedł czas na nasze wejście rozpoczęło sie focenie na całego i podziwianie nowego wystroju China Airlines. Jedyne czego się nie udało zrobić to kokpit, gdyż samolot i załoga byli praktycznie gotowi do odlotu po południu po zamknięciu kolejnego dnia Salonów. Ale i tak byłem całkiem zadowolony.
Once we were on board, photo shooting could start for good. We had the privilege of admiring the new lay out of China Airlines. The only thing I wasn't able to take pictures of was the flight deck. Apparently the deck and crew were all ready for departure in the late afternoon, after the show was to be closed. But still I was pretty happy.

Having finished the tour round the B777 I then had the occasion to take some pictures of the taxiing Bombardier CS300.
Następnie przyszedł czas na zwiedzanie sponsorowane przez Airbusa. Na początku rejestracja i wydanie oddzielnych przepustek na zwiedzanie. Potem oczekiwanie w lounge'u. Do dyspozycji soki, napoje, przekąski. A na zewnątrz balkon i możliwość zrobienia zdjęcia A380 bez przeszkód. Blisko stoi na tyle, że ładnie wypełnia kadr z 8mm. W tym czasie przeciągają Dreamlinera Vietnam Airlines.
It was then time for a tour sponsored by Airbus. At first quick registration was needed so that I could receive a separate pass for the tours. Then we were to wait in the lounge. Drinks and snacks at any time. But outside was the balcony giving a beautiful possibility of capturing the A380 without any obstacles. So close that it fills almost the whole frame at just 8mm. At the very same time the Vietnam Airlines 787-9 is pulled.
Po 10 minutach czekania wchodzimy najpierw na pokład A380. Oglądamy wszystkie klasy, oba pokłady i kończymy wizytą w kokpicie.
After 10 minutes of waiting we first enter the A380. We visit all of the travelling classes on both decks of the double-decker to end our tour with a short visit in the cockpit.
Kierujemy się na pokład A350. Tu jednak najpierw zaczynamy od kokpitu by potem przejść do kabiny pasażerskiej. Klasy takie same tylko w mniejszych ilościach miejsc. Korzystam także z okazji i obserwuję jak wygladą ta nieszczęsna końcówka skrzydła A350. Tour kończymy przechodząc obok potężnego Rolls Royce'a Trent XWB, jednostki napędowej francuskiego odpowiednika Dreamlinera.

I also use the occasion to take another look at the wingtip of the A350, of which I'm still not a fan. The tour is ended by passing the enormous Rolls Royce Trent XWB, the engine used for the A350.
Potrzebując trochę odpoczynku wracam do centrum prasowego, po drodze jednak jeszcze na spontanie odwiedzam pokład Sukhoia Superjeta 100 przeznaczonego dla Interjeta. Tutaj tour zajmuje dużo mniej czasu ze względu na małą liczbę odwiedzających. Wychodząc robię też zdjęcie pięknie pomalowanego Pilatusa PC-12NG.
Needing some rest, I make my way to the press centre. On the way though I pay a short visit to the Sukhoi Superjet 100 intended for Interjet. The tour doesnt take too long because of the much smaller amounts of people visiting. Leaving I take a photo of a beautifully painted Pilatus PC-12NG.
Resztę dnia spędzę ogladając pokazy dynamiczne z balkonu centrum prasowego. Jak zawsze największe wrażenie robi start Dreamlinera. To jak bardzo pionowo startuje pokazane jest na zdjęciu poniżej. Później opuszczam teren PAS15, na którym kończą się dni zamknięte. Następnym razem gdy się tu pojawię, będzie towrzyszyło mi ponad 100 tysięcy osób.
I spend the rest of the day watching the dynamic display from the balcony of the press centre. As always the most impressive is the take off of the Dreamliner. The angle of take off is shown pretty well on the photo below. I then leave the Air Show, at which the closed Trade Visitors Days come to an end. The next time I come here, I will have over 100 thousand other people with me.
